Launched in 2020, SITK initially provided webinars designed to help patients by addressing nutrition associated with the Jewish holidays. Today, it has grown to incorporate everyday kosher and healthy recipes created by food influencers.
PUP founder Craig Taubman said the event was busier than usual this week (even in 94 degree heat), because in addition to distributing fresh produce baskets, PUP was manning a COVID-19 vaccination site.
The program is the brainchild of Michelle Aaron, wife of Temple Emanuel Senior Rabbi Jonathan Aaron, and who is an actress and singer in her own right (where she performs under the name Michelle Azar).
