Mayim Bialik set to become new ‘Jeopardy!’ host

We’ll take Jewish representation for $1800, Mayim.

Los Angeles actress and neuroscientist Mayim Bialik has been tapped to be one of the new “Jeopardy!” hosts. The star of “Call Me Kat,” “The Big Bang Theory” and host of the mental health podcast “Bialik Breakdown,” shared her excitement about the news on social media after trending #1 on Twitter this week.
“Really really honored and astounded and excited for this. It’s beyond anything I ever imagined could happen,” she wrote on Instagram, adding that it was her 15-year-old son who told her she should become the next host, following the passing of Alex Trebek in November 2020. That prompted her to call her agent and “bug him about it.”

In June, Bialik served as one of the show’s celebrity guest hosts for two weeks. After Trebek’s death on Nov. 8, various celebrities took turns guest hosting until the show could find a replacement. Other guest hosts included Katie Couric, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, “Good Morning America” host Robin Roberts, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, neurosurgeon and medical reporter Dr. Sanjay Gupta, and actor LeVar Burton, to name a few.
