Camp Bob Waldorf’s family fun day raises more than $225,000

More than 300 community leaders, businesses and families attended Camp Bob Waldorf’s Family Fun Day fundraiser on Oct. 17 to support Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles (JBBBSLA) and the Foundation for Camp Bob Waldorf (FCBW). Each year, Camp Bob Waldorf helps 800 children from low-income families and disadvantaged neighborhoods in Los Angeles, and children living in foster care and transitional housing. 

With the outbreak of the pandemic, in the summer of 2021 Camp Bob Waldorf transitioned to a day camp. During the fundraiser, JBBBSLA CEO Cari Uslan who ensured campers had a safe and meaningful experience.  

“Camp Bob Waldorf is an escape for many kids. A safe place to play,” Uslan said. “Camp is essential to children’s social and emotional growth. They need to play outdoors, socialize with other kids, and engage in new experiences. After being stuck at home, in front of computers, we knew that we had to offer camp to kids this summer.” 

The event raised more than $225,000.
