Beit T’Shuvah Thrift Store in L.A. to open new location in March
BTS Thrift Store (Beit T’Shuvah’s Thrift Store) in Los Angeles announced that it has found a new location to sell its wares at the corner of Pico and La Cienega boulevards. Mordekhai Moadeb, store manager at BTS told SoCal Jewish News that the new location will be up and running by March 1.
Originally housed in a building on Washington Boulevard opposite Sony studios for 20 years, BTS was forced to vacate after the premises were slated for demolition. BTS posted on its website in May 2021: “While we are extremely grateful for the generous support of our community, we are temporarily not accepting donations of any kind (clothes, furniture, etc.) as we prepare for our relocation (location TBD). We will be sure to keep you updated when this changes. Thank you for your support.”
In October, BTS posted that renovations were underway at the new location but offered no further details.
The store sold and will continue to sell everything from furniture and collectibles to books, china, records and clothing, courtesy of donations from the community. All proceeds go to support those in recovery at Beit T’Shuvah, a residential addiction treatment facility in Los Angeles that incorporates spirituality, the 12-step philosophy and psychotherapy.
During the pandemic, the thrift store went virtual. Customers can continue shopping online until the store opens. BTS is always looking for donations of clothing, housewares and furniture. Call 310-204-4669 to schedule a pickup or drop off.
