Jan. 27 marks  International Holocaust Remembrance Day. To commemorate the occasion, CBS and MTV are hosting two primetime specials.

“The Hate We Can’t Forget: A Holocaust Memorial Special” premieres in the U.S. on Jan. 31 at 10 pm PT. “Undeniable: The Truth to Remember” airs on Jan. 29 at 8 p.m. PT on CBS.  It will also stream on Paramount+ beginning Jan. 30, and on CBS News Streaming Network on Feb. 1.

Both specials will be hosted by three-time Emmy award-winner Julianna Margulies (“ER”, “The Good Wife”). Each spotlights interviews with Holocaust survivors and their families who share harrowing first-person accounts and discuss the importance of keeping their stories alive. Margulies also explores the impact and legacy of the Holocaust through the eyes of Gen Zs and Millennials. “Undeniable” includes an exclusive feature about 97-year-old Holocaust survivor Lily Ebert, who, along with her great-grandson, recently became viral sensations on TikTok.

Chris McCarthy, president and CEO at ViacomCBS Media Networks & MTV Entertainment said in a statement to SoCal Jewish News, “As we recently witnessed the harrowing hostage crisis at a Texas synagogue, violence against the Jewish community is reaching record highs… This is why it is imperative for us to learn from the horrors of the Holocaust, use our platforms to showcase the stories of survival and lock arms with those bravely fighting antisemitism and hatred in all of its forms.”

George Cheeks, president and CEO at CBS told SoCal Jewish News in a statement, “Hearing directly from these survivors puts the atrocities they experienced in sharp focus and should inspire us to fight against all forms of hate and bigotry in the future.”
